FibraQ is a surface-treated wood fiber for plastic injection molding. With our patented technology our product can help companies to reach their climate goals by replacing more than half of the plastic with natural material in products ranging from car interiors, electronics, furniture, toys, lifestyle products, etc.
20% higher flowability than other brands
FibraQ display high flowability in injection molding, enabling structural complexity in products and causing less wear on machinery.
51% replaced plastic
FibraQ can replace more than half of the plastic content in a wide variety of compositions. Allowing the possibility to customize formulations based on your product requirements.
100% Scalable technology
FibraQ can replace large volumes, adept to already existing production lines in a wide variety of polyolefins or biobased plastics, saving resources and keeping wood fiber processing facilities alive.
Every kilo of plastic replaced with FibraQ = 5 kg CO2 reduction
Versatile, flexible, price-competitive
Untreated wood fibres are hydrophilic and fluffy. Making them difficult to use in plastic production. Our patented technology increases the wood-fibres compatibility with polymer matrices. This is why injection molding with FibraQ exhibits higher flowability and enables production in larger volumes than other wood-based bio-granulate brands today.
It is fully customizable, allowing you to have full control over the final material mix according to your product requirements and sustainability goals. Our flexible approach means you can use your existing infrastructure and polymers to create your injection or compression molded product, while at the same time reducing your reliance on fossil fuel-based plastic
FibraQ can be mixed with virgin/recycled PE and PP, PS or other biopolymers and the biogranulate can be processed via injection molding or thermoforming.
With FibraQ you can:
Choose among more polymer matrices of various flowability and ductility to tailor the mechanical performance
Have higher throughput during compounding which allow a higher production rate
Get less wear on injection moulding tooling
Produce in large volumes for low prices due to our patented technology
Are you a brand, an injection molder, a compounder, wood fibre producer or a investor? Our innovation opens up many new business opportunities within the plastic industry.
A natural look and feel and the possibility to customise your choice of vibrant color
FibraQ comes in a compacted and hydrophobic granulate format. This makes them easier to feed into plastic compounders and enable better material performance, as well as the possibility to mix it with a wide variety of plastics of your choice by using current machinery.
A drop-in solution
We give all compounders the opportunity to offer their customers sustainable materials and to keep up with the demands of end consumers. In all steps of the production process current manufacture tooling can be kept and business relationships that have developed over the years can remain.
For brands owners:
Our materials can help you tell the story of who you are and what you stand for. We enable brands to fulfill their sustainability goals by providing them with materials that reduce their carbon footprint for an affordable price, while maintaining competitive material performance and processability.
Maintain product quality
The bio granulate can be processed via injection molding or thermoforming, for the production of consumer products, car interiors, electronics, storage boxes, furniture, toys, garden tools, etc. As our material is so versatile, when a partner decides to work with us, we will do our very best to find the solutions that fit their needs. We share our knowledge on how to optimize our material to their product demands, production and sustainability goals. By the use of our patented fibers, producers can keep using existing tooling. Making a quick change to more sustainable products easy.
For product manufacturers
We give manufactures a chance to offer a sustainable material at an affordable price, competitive performance and good processability. Our modified wood fibers can be mixed with many types of polymers at one of our compounder partners or your existing compounding partner. Our material is suitable for Injection- or compression-moldable products - e.g. for consumer products, storage boxes, furniture, toys, garden tools, electronics or car interiors etc.
Licensing for Wood fiber producers
We provide fiber producers with a new business opportunity: We license our technology to fiber producers who can produce the FibraQ brand to supply the demand of the plastic industry. We are looking for wood fiber based newsprint mills who would like to transform their spare wood fiber production capacity to enter into the plastic market, and we are enabling this by applying our patented technology.
By using the spare capacity from the existing Forest industry, our product is highly scalable. The technology is easily implemented within already existing production lines in paper mills, and can therefor be applied globally. This contributes to less shipping costs and is better for the environment. But it also contributes to social sustainability by keeping the otherwise declining paper industry alive!
The wood fibres we currently use are sourced from sustainably managed Nordic forest with FSC and PEFC certification.
